USA Swimming Registration:
We're making USA Swimming Registration easier!
We’re excited to share that Fusion will now handle USA Swimming registration for our swimmers! New families will no longer have to navigate the USA Swimming registration portal, while returning families will no longer need to track renewal dates or determine when upgrades are needed for Flex or Individual Season memberships. This will also simplify the process for our administrative and coaching staff, allowing everyone to spend less time following up on incomplete or expired registrations.
Our goal is to make this an easy button for families: Maintain an active team membership, and Fusion will make sure the necessary USA Swimming registration is handled for you prior to attending your first meet. This eliminates a separate annual charge, spreads the cost across monthly dues, and gives families one less thing to manage.
As a reminder, Fusion’s financial policy provides for an annual inflation adjustment of up to 5%, effective September 2nd each year. Beginning October 1, you will see a monthly dues increase of $5 for swimmers in our 2x/week groups and $10 for swimmers in our 4+/week groups. For some groups, this total increase is slightly higher than the 5% inflation limit because it also includes the added service and cost of USA Swimming registration. When the registration cost is backed out, the actual inflation adjustment for 2026 is approximately 1–2% across all groups.
Each year, we review dues based on the team’s actual needs. Sometimes an adjustment helps offset rising operating expenses, such as this year’s increases in insurance and meet-related costs. Other times, it allows us to add services for families, such as SwimStrong membership or team-managed USA Swimming registration. We never increase dues more than necessary, and we remain committed to keeping year-round swimming as affordable and accessible as possible.
A Note from the Coach:
New season = New goals
Gold-Prep, Gold, Teal, and Black swimmers: Goal-setting emails are being sent out. Please try to complete your goal-setting sheets by September 14th.
Bronze, Silver, and High School swimmers: Set process-oriented goals for your season, such as practice attendance, specific technique improvement, practice effort, listening skills, hydration, etc. These are goals that you can control. Share them with your parents, and celebrate when goals are met.
Over the next couple of weeks, practice intensity will gradually increase. Please be sure you are bringing water to practice, so you can remain well-hydrated. Parents, this is also the point in the season when you will assume the role of cheerleader, encouraging your swimmers to give their best effort at every practice, and to be as consistent as possible with their training.
At this point in the season, we are focusing on:
- Increasing intensity
- Technique, technique, technique
- Developing good attendance habits and consistent training
