USA Swimming Registration:
All meets, both away and at our home pools require USA registration, except those meets that specifically state otherwise in the meet description. There are 3 registration options (For context: The 2025 Premium registration fee was $89. 2026 fees will be confirmed and added to these descriptions after September 1st):
- Premium - This option is the most expensive, but also the easiest. Recommended for all Silver, JV, Varsity, Gold, Teal & Black. Covers your swimmer for all USA meets through the end of 2026.
- Individual Season - Covers exactly 150 days of competition, and a swimmer cannot have two individual season registrations within one registration year. Recommended for 13&O athletes who don't want to start with a Premium membership. If you upgrade to premium BEFORE the 150 days expires, USA Swimming will just charge you the difference, but you have to make sure you upgrade within 150 days. Typically, if the individual season expires before you upgrade, you will have to pay the full amount for the Premium membership to continue.
- Flex - Recommended for 12&U athletes who don't want to start with a Premium membership. This will cover 12&Under athletes through the end of 2026, but the athlete cannot compete in more than 2 USA-Swimming sanctioned meets, and it will not cover participation in championship meets like State or Divisionals. Block Party meets do not count against the 2 meet limit.
If your swimmer has not previously attended a USA meet in 2025, you will need to complete an online USA Swimming registration prior to attending any future meets. An email will be sent, along with step-by-step instructions, to the applicable athletes prior to their first meet. This email will reiterate the different registration options and offer recommendations where appropriate.
If your swimmer has already attended USA meets under a Premium membership, they are eligible to continue attending meets through the end of 2025, but will need to be registered with USA Swimming prior to their first meet of 2026. An email will be sent prior to the end of the year, along with step-by-step instructions for 2026 registrations, to all currently registered athletes.
A Note from the Coach:
New season = New goals
Varsity, Gold, Teal, and Black swimmers: Goal-setting emails are being sent out. Please try to complete your goal-setting sheets by September 15th.
Bronze, JV and Silver swimmers: Set process-oriented goals for your season, such as practice attendance, specific technique improvement, practice effort, listening skills, hydration, etc. These are goals that you can control. Share them with your parents, and celebrate when goals are met.
Over the next couple of weeks, practice intensity will gradually increase. Please be sure you are bringing water to practice, so you can remain well-hydrated. Parents, this is also the point in the season when you will assume the role of cheerleader, encouraging your swimmers to give their best effort at every practice, and to be as consistent as possible with their training.
At this point in the season, we are focusing on:
- Increasing intensity
- Technique, technique, technique
- Developing good attendance habits and consistent training
